The Wat Phra Kaeo official name is Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram. The sanctuary is situated in the notable focus of the Bangkok. The area is named Phra Nakhon on Rattanakosin on the imperial royal residence ground. The sanctuary is thought to be Thailand's holiest shrine.The work of the sanctuary began in 1785 by lord Rama 1. the capital of Siam moved from thonburi to Bangkok. No friars live in this sanctuary as do in different sanctuaries. The sanctuary of the Emerald Buddha is worked similarly as the excellent houses of prayer from the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya times.
The emerald Buddha picture is 66cm tall, is produced using jade and housed inside the sanctuary. The picture sits on top of an overlaid resplendent sacred place inside the regal chapel.The picture is typically wearing distinctive outfits taking into account the season. The picture is wearing gems and a crown in the hot season, a brilliant shawl in winter and an overlaid robe and hood in the blustery season. Every time the ensemble of the emerald Buddha is changed the lord manages the ceremony.The entryways of the church have mother of pearl trims indicating scenes from the hindu epic Ramayana.
